Welcome to Harmonia Choir
Harmonia has had to take a break from performing during the second half of 2019 although they have still been meeting to rehearse together. Hopefully they will get back on track in 2020 and they are looking forward to performing again and entertaining new and old audiences alike.
South Cliffe Methodist Church, Scarborough
This concert was to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Scarborough Soroptomists.
The choir were joined by their smaller offspring group the Harmonettes and Neville and Janine Maw to provide a lovely evening enjoyed by all.
St.Mary's Church, Old Malton
This concert was to raise funds for repairs to the church's organ. A full church enjoyed a wonderful evening with a really varied selection of songs.
Bedern Hall, York
Harmonia were invited to sing at a fundraiser for the Guild of Cordwainers in the beautiful setting of Bedern Hall in the centre of York. It was a very informal evening that was enhanced by the historic surroundings and the choir really enjoyed the whole experience.
Mrs Sunderland Festival in Huddersfield
The choir entered this festival for the first time and were delighted to be placed in all four of the classes that they entered, gaining two 2nd's and two 3rd's. They were even more pleased when they were invited by the adjudicator to sing again in the evening at the prize winners challenge.
Christmas with Harmonia
St.Leonard's Church in Malton was the setting for Harmonia's Christmas concert. A full church enjoyed many traditional carols alongside a varied mixture of Christmas songs from different parts of the world.
The evening raised a fantastic £1144 for CAFOD which is going to support an ongoing project in El Salvador. A big thank you to everyone who came and supported it.
Christmas tree festival in Bridlington
On a very wet Saturday afternoon the choir travelled to Bridlington to entertain the parishioners of St. John's Burlington Methodist Church at their Christmas Tree Festival. They were given a very warm welcome and it was a lovely way to start the Christmas season.
10th Anniversary concert at St.Peter's Church, Norton
To celebrate being 10 years old, Harmonia joined with York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir to present a wonderful concert that was enjoyed by all. Here's to the next 10 years!
I.D.A.S concert at Trinity Methodist Church
This concert was postponed from March due to bad weather. The church was full and it was a memorable concert which raised over £900 for the charity.
Great Edstone 7th July
On a very hot summer's evening Harmonia returned to Great Edstone Church. They entertained a full church with a wonderfully mixed repertoire of songs that was much appreciated.
South Cliff Methodist Church Scarborough
Harmonia received a very warm welcome when they visited South Cliff Methodist Church for the first time on the 18th June. The church run a series of summer concerts and the choir were delighted to finally be able to take part in one of them.
Bridlington Priory 2nd June
On a very wet summer's evening the choir visited Bridlington Priory for the first time. The size of the church was quite daunting but the choir rose to the occasion and performed to a very appreciative audience. We hope that we will be back in Bridlington very soon.
