Update on Harmonia

Harmonia ladies choir has ceased to operate. After 11 years of fantastic direction by Alison Davis she has had, for personal reasons, to give up directing the choir. Alison would like to thank all of the choir, past and present, for their commitment and hard work over the years. Many firm friendships have been forged and the wonderful memories of successes at Eskdale Festival will always be with us.

However, all is not over as Alison formed Ryedale Voices in February 2019 and has now joined  forces with Richard Kay from York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir. Richard now leads the choir and Alison is the accompanist and they collaborate together on the repertoire. This mixed choir meets on a Tuesday night in Norton between 7.30pm and 9pm.

The exciting news is that a new female choir will be started by Richard and Alison once it is possible to meet again in any numbers!  The new choir will meet at 6.30pm - 7.30pm on Tuesday evenings at the same venue as Ryedale Voices. Anyone interested in joining either choir should contact Alison via the contact page.

"What a joy it is to sing with the choir led so expertly by Alison."
